Responsibilities:
The Payroll Coordinator is responsible for preparing, processing, and ensuring an accurate and timely processing of a complex bi-weekly payroll under a strict deadline.
Additional duties include, but are not limited to, ensuring compliance with state and federal laws, as well as college policies and procedures, special contracts, and collective bargaining units/contracts; researching, troubleshooting, and resolving questions /problems for managers and employees as they relate to the processing of payroll information such as personal time off (PTO), banking, garnishments, employment verifications, retroactive pay calculations, tax questions and other changes to payroll status; responsible for the onboarding of candidates and new employees; shares relevant state and federal communications to all employees; and works closely with HR to ensure the integrity of payroll data including the data related to new hires, terminations, transfers, rate changes, and updating & safeguarding all payroll records.

Minimum
Qualifications:
Associate degree in Accounting or Business Administration, with up to and including four years of experience in performing complex payroll administration.
Additional requirements include:
customer service experience; a working knowledge of payroll practices, as well as labor and compliance guidelines; high level problem solving skills; computer skills (Microsoft Office WORD and Excel); report writing, exporting and importing data and general office skills; effective oral and written communication skills; ability to:
manage multiple priorities and time sensitive deadlines; self-motivate; maintain confidentiality; have meticulous attention to detail; and ability to work independently and within a team.
